A Workshop for
foster parents and other care providers
Presented by: Central Plains Center for Services
Specifically for: Foster Parents & other care providers.
This class is
designed to give foster parents and other care providers additional resources
and ideas for their work with the budding adults they have in their care. Within
a few short years (or months) these young people will be trying life on their
own and they will need all of the guidance, support and encouragement we can
give them. The time is now to offer opportunities to learn, practice, err and do
it again! And where better to do this than in the home and family with whom
they live???
By attending this
workshop you will be better prepared to help your youth prepare for life on
his/her own. You can expect to receive:
1. Information
about using the free, on line Ansell Casey Life Skills Assessment tool for
regularly determining the strengths, needs and the progress of your youth
2. A
format for an approved Independent Living Plan that will help direct your work
with the youth during this exciting time in his/her life. This plan may be
offered to HHS and the court
3. Resources,
ideas and support to help make this a naturally dynamic and productive period in
your relationship with the youth in your care.
This free workshop
(providing foster parent credits) is planned for your area in the near future.
Please attend if you have (or are open to having) a teenage foster youth in your
care.
Please contact us for the current schedule of trainings in your area.
All applications
must be signed by the youth and directed to: Central Plains Center for
Services
